In intensive care units, caring for a patient’s health is a complex process, given the numerous variables that require attention: the patient’s condition, controlling various sources of data and information from continuous monitoring systems, the need to increase control to minimize the risk of errors, unforeseen medical interventions, not to mention the stress and overload on medical staff. Also by the requirement to produce extensive medical records and carry out administrative activities.
In this context, the use of information tools of the CIS (Clinical Information Systems) class, which support the work in the area of intensive care, becomes extremely important.
The answer to these challenges is the Digistat system, which provides medical personnel with tools to automate and optimize treatment processes in order to maximize what really matters: patient care.
Digistat software, from Swiss manufacturer Ascom, a leader in hospital paging systems, is a CIS software. It has a class II b rating, according to the MDR, and is therefore treated as a medical device. Hospital staff can therefore rely on it (also from a legal perspective) to make diagnostic or therapeutic decisions in conditions of increased risk to patients’ lives.
The system consists of a number of modules, which the INNERGO implementation team adapts under the workflow of intensive care or neonatology departments. The most key ones are listed below.
Digistat Connect
Digistat’s software allows integration with medical equipment at patients’ bedsides, so that data can be automatically retrieved from connected devices (regardless of which equipment providers are present in a hospital).
Smart Central
Collected data from medical devices is displayed in a centralized location and organized into an integrated alert system. This gives doctors and nurses near real-time access to patients’ vital signs in a broader context, and the displayed alerts next to patient charts allow, among other things, prioritization and speed of assistance (including remote observation, without having to be at patients’ bedsides).
Critical Care
Automation and optimization of treatment processes, including:
- Digital forms – a variety of digital forms that we create in collaboration with you, and which are mapped to paper records and medical processes in the department. The forms are integrated with ADT and go into the medical record after treatment.
- Clinical Log.
- Digital therapy plan (orders and execution).
- Fluid balance.
- Scoring system.
Digistat integrates via HL7 with HIS, LIS, RIS, etc. and is scalable from small to large systems.
