We are implementing a modern emergency alert and warning system in Poland

Imagine that in the event of an emergency – whether it’s a flood, fire or other crisis – everyone in your neighborhood receives a clear and quick message that allows you to act without panic.

This is not a vision of the future, but a reality that the State Fire Service is implementing with its state-of-the-art Warning and Alerting System (SOiA) as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ program “Resilience to Crisis – Optimization of State Services Responsible for Security.” Want to know how it works and why it’s a real breakthrough? What is this project and why is it so important?

The alarm system will eventually be upgraded in as many as 4,060 locations nationwide. This is a huge undertaking with one goal: to make each of us feel safer. Thanks to the new SOiA system, which complies with the Law on Civil Protection, information about threats – about natural disasters, attacks or crises, increasing resilience to threats, including cyber threats.

Before the work began, the existing systems were carefully analyzed and locations were selected that would ensure maximum coverage of the sirens and effective notification of as many people as possible. This is no  basic modernization – it is a real revolution in security.

This project is a big responsibility for us. We realize that in today’s world, effective alarm and warning systems are a necessity. And that’s why it’s important that they are made according to the highest global standards. We are happy to realize this as a Polish company.” – says Pawel Panasiuk, vice president of INNERGO.

What’s new at SOiA?

Here’s what makes this system so unique:

  • replacement of sirens: analog sirens will be replaced with modern digital sirens that allow voice messages.
  • infrastructure: a data communications network will be built with LoRaWAN technology for resilience to interference.
  • integration: connection to government and local government systems.

Project implementation

The project is being carried out by INNERGO in cooperation with Telegrafia a.s, an expert in alarm systems. Their flagship product, the Gibon 600W digital siren, is a true champion in its class:

  • Power and range: four 600-watt speakers ensure that the signal will reach even remote corners.
  • Weatherproof: the IP66-protected housing will withstand dust, downpours and extreme conditions.
  • High-quality sound: voice messages are so clear that you will understand every word, (A+ rating).
  • Intelligent self-diagnostics: the siren checks itself to make sure everything is working and reports problems before they become serious. This makes it possible to detect potential problems even before they affect the operation of the alarm system.

“With over 30 years of experience in implementing projects in the field of advanced early warning and mass notification systems around the world, we have comprehensive solutions for various users. We look forward to working together with INNERGO on projects that realistically increase the safety of the people of Poland.” – emphasizes Michał Rosiński, International Business Manager at Telegrafia.

Work began in 2023, and the full upgrade will be completed in 2026. New sirens installed by INNERGO will appear in more than 1,200 locations, including in the provinces of Mazowieckie, Małopolskie, Podkarpackie, Wielkopolskie, Lubelskie, Łódzkie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie.
