Clinical software
for CIS-class hospitals

Digistat is a clinical software of the CIS (Clinical Information System) class. Compared to HIS (Hospital Information System) software, the main purpose of which is to manage a hospital from an administrative and financial perspective, the key role of Digistat’s clinical system is to support the work of medical staff in complex decision-making processes in intensive patient care.

Our partner Ascom’s software is a Class II b medical device according to MDR (Medical Device Regulation). This gives confidence to doctors and hospital management that Digistat software can be used in decision-making for diagnostic, therapeutic and monitoring of vital physiological parameters, even in the immediate life-threatening condition of patients.

Thanks to its modular design, the software allows the creation of solutions individually tailored to the needs and nature of the operation of each OiT or operating theater unit.

Why class II b
medical software in intensive care units
and the operating theater is important?

The April 7, 2022 Law on Medical Devices and the April 5, 2017 Regulation of the European Parliament and Council (EU) on Medical Devices regulate classes of medical products in detail:

“Software intended to monitor physiological processes belongs to Class IIa, except when it is intended to monitor vital physiological parameters where a change in such parameters may cause immediate danger to the patient, in which case the software belongs to Class IIb.”

The use of incompatible software, if it causes harm to a patient, can lead to hypotheses of criminal liability for the healthcare entity.

Therefore, by opting for Digistat’s Class IIb-certified software, you are assured of the highest safety standards and that your medical staff and management operate in compliance with the law.
